About Vallensis Publishing
Vallensis Publishing is an independent open-access publisher of journals in biomedical artificial intelligence, based in Glis, Switzerland. It currently operates two journals, both in their launch phase.
Aims
Biomedical AI is advancing faster than the evidence base beneath it. Much work is published without external validation, without code or data, and without the reporting standards that allow others to reproduce a result. Our journals give priority to studies whose methods are clear, whose claims can be checked and whose review process is documented.
Editorial process
Before peer review, each submission is checked for scope, completeness of the required statements, adherence to reporting guidelines, statistical reporting, figure integrity and the availability of data and code. Some of these checks are software-assisted. Peer review is double-blind, with at least two independent reviewers. All editorial decisions are made by human editors and documented in line with COPE guidance.
Data protection
Personal data of authors, reviewers and editors are processed in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Policies
Our editorial policies are public and dated, and changes are recorded. An overview is available under Integrity & Ethics; the complete policies are published on the website of each journal.
Ownership
Vallensis Publishing is independently owned. Ownership and contact details are given in the legal notice.
