Open-access journals in biomedical artificial intelligence
Vallensis Publishing is an independent open-access publisher based in Switzerland. Its journals publish peer-reviewed research on the development, validation and responsible use of artificial intelligence in biomedicine.
Editorial policies follow the COPE Core Practices. Articles are published open access under CC BY 4.0. ISSN and Crossref DOI registration are in preparation.
Journals
Journal of Privacy-Preserving AI in Medicine
Federated learning, differential privacy, secure computation and synthetic data for clinical and biomedical AI.
Journal of AI-Driven Drug Discovery
Generative molecular design, protein structure prediction and machine-learning methods across the drug-discovery pipeline.
How the journals work
Peer review
Manuscripts that pass the editorial check are reviewed double-blind by at least two independent experts. All editorial decisions are made by human editors.
Checks before review
Each manuscript is checked for scope, required statements, reporting guidelines, statistical reporting, figure integrity, text overlap and the availability of data and code. Some of these checks are software-assisted.
Open access and preservation
Articles are free to read and reuse under CC BY 4.0. A long-term digital preservation arrangement will be in place before the first articles are published.
Launch phase
Both journals are in their launch phase. The founding editorial boards are being appointed, and the journals will open for submissions once the boards are in place. Articles accepted during the launch phase are published without an article processing charge.
